AKO Knive Gate Valves Control Dense Materials

(press release distribution) The flow of liquid and powdery material in industrial tubes has to be controlled all the time. AKO Armaturen & Separations GmbH is the European market leader in developing pinch valves and produces besides pneumatic and mechanical pinch valves also knife gate valves. These knife gate valves are a perfect solution to control dense materials.

The category of the knife gate valves involves many different constructions but all are installed to stop and restart the flow of the dense material, e.g. water, which is piped by the tubes. The AKO knife gate valves are EN 1092-2 conform and are manufactured with an intermediate flange device. Right in the centre of the flange device there is a lateral movement blade. This special blade is made of stainless steel and is ground on both sides. This is why there is just a little risk that the armature can be blocked or damaged even while cutting through ductile substance. There are various options to close the knife gate valve. The customer can choose between two options to handle the knife gate valve. On the one hand the knife gate valve can be operated manually through a hand wheel or a lever or on the other hand automatically by using pneumatic or electric systems.

AKO knife gate valves are produced for a nominal width from DN050 till DN600 as standard. The firm is a very customer orientated business. Therefore it always welcomes special requests and hence AKO gladly manufactures knife gate valves with lower or higher nominal widths. All armatures, even custom-made knife gate valves are checked and DIN ISO 9001:2008 certified before they are delivered to the customer.

The family enterprise AKO Armaturen & Separations GmbH was found in 1984 by Antoine Kopp and is headquartered in Trebur in Germany. Since a few years Frederik Kopp is also part the business management and both executives emphasize an excellent customer service and efficient resource utilization during the production process.

Thanks to a large stock AKO can manufacture different armatures, even rarely demanded special knife gate valves, at all times without causing long waiting times for the customer.
