New Strategies and Tips on Selling Your Home in a Bad Economy

(PRC) “To sell a house in a not so favorable economic climate, there are some things the current home owner can do to increase the chances of selling the home for the price you want.”  So says Tony Buel, owner of www.SellHomeSecrets.com.  Mr Buel tries to encourage the seller to look at things with the ‘buyer’s eye’.

“Try to evaluate your home you are selling as if you are seeing it for the first time.  With your buyers glasses on you may be in a better position to spot the obvious deficiencies and correct them before the real potential buyers stop by.”

And there is advice also for the sellers who wish to sell the home themselves.  If a seller is so inclined,  note that they will bear the responsibility for marketing the property, along with full legal disclosures, inspections, appraisals and the like.  The seller should also be very comfortable with real estate related documents, and comfortable with the legal implications resulting from the transaction.

Some sellers will choose the real estate agent route and say to him or her, “I just want to sell my home fast.”  If a real estate agent is in the picture doing some of the legwork,  the seller doesn’t necessarily have to just wait around for events to unfold.  “Put some efforts in marketing your house yourself. Create fliers and postcards and announce your home selling.  Spread these around in the neighborhood”, continued Mr Buel.

Whether it’s with an agent or on their own, the seller will need to be involved in marketing the home to potential homebuyers. Remember that the seller will be competing with thousands of other houses, and who’s better to flaunt the features to homebuyers than the one who’s been living in it?
